Biography

Dr. Hugo Massé-Alarie is an emerging researcher at CIRRIS (Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en réadaptation et intégration sociale) and associate professor in the physiotherapy program of the Department of Rehabilitation at Laval University since 2018. A physiotherapist, he specializes in pain management, mainly on motor control of the back muscles and on the management of low back pain.

Recipient of several grants, he was able to carry out his research which aims to test the influence of low back pain on the functioning of the central nervous system, and to test the effectiveness of conventional (e.g. exercises) and emerging interventions (e.g. non-invasive brain stimulation) in patients with low back pain.
