Foam rolling and various other forms of self-massage have been attributed to many different effects, but are only a passive subset of what it takes to improve mobility. Active components such as proprioception and sensory information are also critical in making lasting changes in the way people move.
Your clients are going to move based on the resources they possess. If you want them to move differently, you need to give them access to more resources.
