Chronic stress and anxiety have been shown to cause chronic inflammation. This physiological response is associated with heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, depression and many other neurodegenerative diseases. So how do we help our patients manage this sustained body response that is causing more and more health problems?
As healthcare professionals, it is our duty to intervene in the healthy lifestyle of our patients. However, in many situations, we feel ill-equipped to accompany our patients through the more stressful moments of life and/or in changing their lifestyle habits. In this webcast course (online live), Julie Blanchette, Ph.D. (Ph.D in microbiology immunology), will help you better understand stress, anxiety and the concept of intrinsic motivation that can help in the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits.
Very relevant. Lack of concrete, everyday examples. Some of the participants’ contributions were irrelevant and/or repetitive.
