Espace ERGO is offering the opportunity for an occupational therapist to join its team for a full-time or part-time position, depending on requirements.

Our new ergo will be part of the interdisciplinary team (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, kinesiologist, psychologist) and will report to the clinical coordinator. He or she will be responsible for assessing the client’s functional abilities (including work skills), determining and implementing a treatment plan, and identifying facilitators and barriers to the rehabilitation process. The treatment plan is developed with a view to improving the client’s functioning and enabling him or her to resume meaningful activities (DSA, ADL, leisure) and work in a satisfactory, safe and sustainable manner.

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Understand the mandates proposed by service requesters.
  2. Carry out effective and complete evaluations based on mandates.
  3. Develop intervention plans in line with follow-up objectives and offer the resulting interventions.
  4. Establish humanistic therapeutic relationships that provide the winning conditions for implementing intervention plans.
  5. Manage practice and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all partners.

 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

At 6 months… 

You know the 20 to 25 clients in your care, their goals and their challenges. You carry out assessments and interventions independently (with support from the team and clinic occupational therapists).

You understand your role within the team and with clients (patients and service claimants – CNESST, SAAQ, insurers).

 

At 12 months… 

You contribute fully to improving people’s lives by fulfilling your role as occupational therapist according to the various services offered (assessments, interventions, compliance with deadlines and administrative framework, etc.).

You actively collaborate with the Espace ERGO teams: full team, interdisciplinary program team, team of occupational therapists.

You contribute to the innovation of our organization through your ideas, recommendations or the sharing of your continuing education activities.

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy
  • Member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec
  • Work experience or internship as an occupational therapist with private clients in chronic pain/rehabilitation (an asset)
  • Interest in working with private clients, CNESST and SAAQ
  • Interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Interest in and excellent writing skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French
