Headaches are common in physiotherapy practice and are often related to cervical dysfunction. Patients with cervicogenic headache often report concomitant symptoms of dizziness; the diagnosis of cervicogenic dizziness is now a recognized classification. These two types of symptoms are closely related and respond well to appropriate physiotherapy interventions.
Created by Key Clinical Skills, a training organization that offers courses across Canada and internationally, this training is entirely online. Participants can work at their own pace. The course is presented in ten modules in the form of dictated presentations supported by videos, links to web resources, reference sheets and a 260-page downloadable document.
Objectives:
- Understand the subclassification of headache and dizziness;
- Know the differential diagnosis of cervicogenic headache and dizziness;
- Understand the medical red flags associated with headaches and dizziness;
- Assess patients with cervicogenic headache and dizziness;
- Understand the medical and surgical options available for the management of headache and dizziness;
- Be familiar with physiotherapy management of cervicogenic headache including: motor control, soft tissue interventions and manual therapy.
