Stéphanie is a physiotherapist, clinician and researcher with over 15 years of experience in pelvic-perineal rehabilitation. Stéphanie has been actively involved in research since the beginning of her career. She received her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from Queen’s University in 2019 for her research work on pelvic floor dysfunction in women with genital-pelvic pain.

Biography

Stéphanie is a physiotherapist, clinician and researcher with over 15 years of experience in pelvic-perineal rehabilitation. She obtained her Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree from McGill University in 2007 and she works in a private clinic in Montreal. Stéphanie has been actively involved in research since the beginning of her career. She received her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from Queen’s University in 2019 for her research work on pelvic floor dysfunction in women with genital-pelvic pain. She has presented at over a dozen international conferences and has received several awards for her research. She has published ten peer-reviewed articles and one book chapter. Her clinical and research experiences, including numerous collaborations with multidisciplinary research teams around the world, have given her a unique perspective on the biopsychosocial aspects of pelvic health.

  • Recipient of a Doctoral Research Award for Health Professionals from the Fond de recherche du Québec – Santé (2012-2015)
  • Recipient of the “Dr. Stanley C. Marinoff Career Development Award” from the National Vulvodynia Association (2011)
  • Recipient of a Master’s degree research scholarship from the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec (2010)
  • Recipient of the “Award for research advancing quality of care” from the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (2010)
  • Recipient of a clinical research internship grant from the Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec (2009)
