Aging is an important stage in the life cycle, a wish that many people do not understand. Growing old can be unpleasant and bring new problems, but there are ways to age well. This is what Guy Hajj Boutros, lecturer in the Department of Physical Activity Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal, clinical research coordinator at the McGill University Health Centre and doctoral student in experimental medicine at McGill University, will present to us in this short course on the epidemiology of aging, the factors that influence physiological changes and the prevention strategies to use with your patients.
Here are some questions that will be answered:
- At what age is a person considered elderly?
- What is successful, usual and frail aging?
- What are the factors that affect aging?
- How can we maintain functional abilities and avoid the loss of muscle mass?
- How many people meet the physical activity recommendations?
- How can we motivate older adults to maintain an active lifestyle?
- At what point does moving become effective?
very interesting. Including multiple possible patho with inactivity are very relevant. I would have liked more info on physical activities to do with aging. Besides that! Great course! Thank you

I’ve just started a position in a CHSLD after 15 years in private orthopedics… I found this course very interesting and I’m certainly interested in seeing more! It supports the line of thinking I already had and the line of intervention I want to implement with my residents. Thank you very much!
