Summary
Following this course, participants will be able to use our clinical decision support tool to guide the diagnosis and management of traumatic pathologies of the distal upper limb in adults. Participants will learn the clinical features and specific tests with the highest diagnostic performance to include in their assessment, based on the systematic review conducted as part of a master’s project in 2025.
Objectives
- Recognize the main clinical features and interpret the results of specific tests indicative of certain traumatic wrist or hand conditions.
- Understand how to use the clinical decision support tool, as well as which specific tests to use to screen for certain serious wrist and hand conditions.
- Identify situations that would benefit from a medical referral and/or medical imaging for further evaluation of the injury.
