Joana Alvarenga is a physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience, originally from Brazil where she practiced for 5 years, and has been working as a clinician and a clinical supervisor since 2009 at the Jewish General Hospital, in Montreal. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Rehabilitation Sciences at McGill University and serves as a faculty lecturer, lab instructor, and mentor.
Passionate about person-centred care, interprofessional education, and inclusive health environments, she is particularly interested in the geriatric population and their care partners. Joana is the Manager for Caring Spaces at the McGill Dementia Education Program and Course Director in the McGill Interprofessional Education Program.
