Sinéad has been an active member of several committees within the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ontario and has authored and developed several clinical practice guidelines within this role. Sinéad is also a member on other committees through the International Continence Society, Registered Nursing Association of Ontario, Corelife Wellness and The World of my Baby (WOMB). 

Biography

Dr. Sinéad Dufour is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Health Science at McMaster UniversityShe teaches and conducts research in both the Schools of Medicine and Rehabilitation Science. 

Sinéad stays currently clinically through her work as the Director of Pelvic Health Services at The World of my Baby (the WOMB) a family of perinatal care centers in the greater Toronto area. Sinéad stays currently clinically through her work as the Director of Pelvic Health Services at The World of my Baby. Also, she mentors a team of pelvic health physiotherapists.. In addition to managing her own very busy caseload, she mentors a team of pelvic health physiotherapists and is a clinical preceptor for family medicine residents and midwifery students from McMaster University.

Her passion for optimizing perinatal care and associated upstream health promotion for women stemmed from her own experience as a mother of twins.  She is an advocate for women’s pelvic health and a regular invited speaker at conferences around the world.
