Summary

This course will help to understand why yoga is showing increasing application in rehabilitation and in the management of persistent pain.

A brief history of yoga and its foundations will be presented in relation to the latest evidence about the potential mechanisms of its clinical application.

This course will address the 8 branches of yoga and how they can benefit the health care professional and their clients. It will introduce the basics of yoga therapy and its various professionals.
This course also aims to understand the basics of the application of asanas (yoga postures) in rehabilitation. It will address how asana differs from traditional exercises. How asana, as part of a complete system, can assist the rehabilitation health professional.

An overview of the most common asanas will be presented in a workshop format. This course will help you integrate these postures into your clinical or telerehabilitation practice. It will also help you understand how to build a yoga sequence to better serve your clients in their rehabilitation or with persistent pain. Integration practices of the 8 branches will be offered and their clinical applications will be discussed.

★★★★★

In fact, the course was very good except that I was expecting more yoga postures (asana) and more exercises to do with my patients.

The asana section is disappointing, I was expecting more postures for different regions and pathologies. I enjoyed the rest.

Very interesting course. However, the intonation of the voice (sound strength) was insufficient to fully understand at certain points during the demonstrations, but all in all, I really appreciated it. Thank you very much.

Very good course. The format was good and the platform easy to use. Unfortunately, it’s a practice that’s less applicable in my environment.

Good overview of yoga basics. It would have been interesting to explore yoga postures clinically (e.g.: what kind of posture is best for a given pathology, physiological impact of a given posture, etc.).

I’m very satisfied with the course. It’s a great all-round course that has deepened my knowledge and given me a new, more enlightened vision. I certainly intend to use the tools provided in the course with my customers.

★★★★★

The course provides a very precise foundation. In my opinion, it’s important to understand each branch. However, I think the essential elements could have been more concise. The course was far too long. I appreciated the instructor who knew her subject very, very well.

★★★★★

Too much very specific yoga theory. Some of the info on how to train in yogatherapy could be put at the end instead of the beginning and could be optional. Especially online, it loses interest and concentration. The practical part was good. The retrospection towards the patient was interesting, but led to a lot of repetition.

Bravo Emmanuelle for having succeeded in equipping us formally to combine the 2 approaches in our physiotherapy practice. A lot of gentleness felt throughout the course! thank you for having taken the time to create this course.

Super interesting!

Unfortunately, I’m a bit disappointed with this course, as I found that it tried to skim over far too much, but that there wasn’t much of anything concrete. In fact, there are a lot of references to other courses (breathing, meditation) and most of the videos presented are freely available on the Internet. As a result, there isn’t much content exclusive to this course, and I realize that I should have taken Breathing or Mediation to deepen the techniques I’m already using in the clinic, or to learn new ones. I would have really liked to have learned more about the use of a small number of postures (their benefits, how to do them properly so as not to injure yourself, variations). On the other hand, I found the instructor very clear in her explanations, using an appropriate tone and showing that she knew the subject well. Finally, I really like your platform and the way the course is set up (in short sequences, easy to use). It’s much easier to do this course.

The instructor is very knowledgeable about her subject, which is very busy. I got a bit lost in all the yogic philosophy. I’m not sure I’ll be able to apply and understand everything, and I think this course is mainly an introduction to everything about yoga. Did I need to know all this to integrate it into my practice? Still, I’m glad I did it. Thank you

★★★★★

I really enjoyed seeing the practical part of each branch of yoga! It was very instructive and helped me figure out the branches and separate them.

★★★★★

Thank you Emmanuelle! It was a great course and I can’t wait for the next one.

★★★★★

An excellent and comprehensive course. Makes us want to learn more and again, thank you very much!

★★★★★

I give 5 stars, because the course is very well done with the parts divided so that theory and practice are done in different videos. I know I’m not the only one, but when I see that the video is more than 20-25 min I get discouraged, so the video times were good to avoid lack of motivation especially since it’s a fairly “long” online course. I’m a physiotherapy technologist with an orthopedic clientele, and I can see what areas of yoga could be useful in rehabilitating some of my patients, without only doing yoga! I liked having this new perception of yoga, which is more introspective than I thought and a conscious therapy, and that it’s not just asanas and pranayama. Also, I love that there are no deadlines for completing the course, as it’s hard with a full-time job to do larger courses in 1 month!

In the yoga practice videos, the sound is very low and we have difficulty waiting for Emmanuelle. Otherwise very very nice course! Thank you 🙂

This course was really interesting and gave me lots of ideas to incorporate into my treatments! The only downside was that the part on breathing in yoga was redundant if you’ve already done the full breathing course. I understand that breathing is an integral part of yoga practice, but it’s a bit long if you’ve already done that part of the course. I think everything could have been integrated into a single longer course including breathing/yoga/meditation and separated into 3 parts which would be prerequisites.

★★★★★

Very clear, nice to be able to work at our own pace. Thoughtful course, good balance between theory and practice. Excellent course!
